Time for my yearly LJ post!
Book meme:
1. Bold those books you've read.
2. Italicise started-but-never-finished.
3. Add three of your own.
4. Post to your livejournal.
(from silversliver )

I had a hard time deciding which to add... I had Arena by William R. Forstchen in there for awhile... then I felt Ashamed.

zombies vs humans
Not sure how many of you out there are interesting in web-based games, but this is a fun one I've been playing recently:
Dead Awaken

It's text/turn based, adventure/combat/strategy zombies vs humans. Not as humorous or in-depth as Kingdom of Loathing, for example, but still very fun.

Drop me a line ingame (we_are_legion), or post a comment if you sign up and want advice on strategy or help with anything.

horray for prius
We finally have the Prius back from the shop. It was only a little less than four weeks. We really need to take some pictures of it, so I can show it off to the INTERNET.

Tomorrow, we go to DC to see the solar houses (several of which more closely resemble solar mobile-homes, but who am I to judge?)

Also, I will purchase and begin a D&D campaign with NEW FRIENDS.

I will drink beer.

bad science (journalism) investigated
I know that several of you are literate scientists, and you may or may not have seen this on slashdot, but I found it to be a very engaging article.

I also know that several of you are not scientists at all, and it's just as important for you to read this article.

practice update
All-Around Awesome

You have:
77% SCIENTIFIC INTUITION and
77% EMOTIONAL INTUITION
The graph on the right represents your place in Intuition 2-Space. As you can see, you scored well above average on emotional intuition and well above average on scientific intuition. (Weirdly, your emotional and scientific intuitions are equally strong.)

Your Emotional Intuition
score is a measure of how well you understand people, especially their
unspoken needs and sympathies. A high score score usually indicates
social grace and persuasiveness. A low score usually means you're good
at Quake.

Your Scientific Intuition
score tells you how in tune you are with the world around you; how well
you understand your physical and intellectual environment. People with
high scores here are apt to succeed in business and, of course, the
sciences.

My test tracked 2 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
free online datingfree online dating
You scored higher than 75% on Scientific
free online datingfree online dating
You scored higher than 62% on Interpersonal

Hello friends list. In case you were having trouble finding a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 shown back on Dec. 2, please consider this as an alternative gift-for-any-occasion:

I still check this every once in awhile!

This is the funniest thing I've seen in ages... I guess it's pretty old, but I'd never seen it before.
